Decking & Railing

IPE Decking

IPE Decking wood is typically found in South America and some parts of Central America. It is one of the densest hardwoods available, three times harder than cedar. IPE has the same fire rating as concrete and steel, meaning it resists flames much longer than softer woods, and it is so dense that it doesn’t float in water. Because of its natural beauty and durability, its a material that upscale builders and interior designers are increasingly incorporating into their plans.

Pressure Treated Decking

Pressure treated lumber is stain-able and hard enough to resist abuse. It is also the least expensive option, however it has a tendency to twist and season quick.

Cedar Decking

If the natural look of wood is at the top of your list, use cedar. Cedar doesn’t readily absorb moisture, so it tends to lie flat and straight. It does however require a little more maintenance to keep that beautiful natural wood look.
