Dykes Lumber Goes Green
In a world that is steadily demanding more and more of the very same natural resources that it's currently running out of, it's no wonder that an increasing number of people are going green, and adopting more ecologically sound and economically conservative ways of living and doing business.
Dykes Lumber has taken a big step toward reducing it's impact on the environment with a new set of photovoltaic solar panels that are currently producing power for the Weehawken and Aberdeen locations, with any surplus fed directly back into the municipal power grid. While solar power is not a new idea, it has secured its place as the most reliable and presently, the most easily implemented of the renewable energy systems that are available for both residential and commercial use.
While it is true that solar energy makes good fiscal sense, it is becoming very important that we all do our part in reducing our carbon footprint on the planet. It is after all, the only planet we have and we're all responsible for it.
